Ze zijn nog maar net begonnen, maar eigenlijk heb je geen idee meer wat ze precies willen zeggen.\u00a0Door SEXI toe te passen zijn argumenten krachtig \u00e9n overtuigend. Volgens dit model bestaat een goed argument uit drie delen: <strong>S<\/strong>tate, <strong>EX<\/strong>plain, <strong>I<\/strong>llustrate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. State: <\/strong>Aan het begin van jouw argument geef je een samenvatting van het argument. Probeer daarbij maximaal zeven woorden te gebruiken, zodat het voor anderen eenvoudiger wordt om de kern van jouw argument te onthouden.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Voorbeeld: Je wil jouw directie overtuigen om minder plastic te gebruiken in jullie bedrijf. Dan is de &#8216;state&#8217; van jouw argument: &#8220;Minder plastic is goed voor het milieu&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>2. EXplain: <\/strong>Vervolgens leg je uit wat je daarmee bedoelt. Twee vragen zijn daarbij cruciaal: &#8220;Waarom is dat waar?&#8221; en &#8220;Waarom is dat belangrijk?&#8221;. Wees je bewust van <a href=\"https:\/\/www.debatrix.com\/nl\/2009\/03\/de-vloek-van-kennis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">de vloek van kennis<\/a>: hoe meer je over een onderwerp weet, hoe minder je geneigd zal zijn die tweede vraag te beantwoorden.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Voorbeeld: Waarom is minder plastic gebruiken goed voor het milieu? En waarom is het zo belangrijk dat deze organisatie iets doet voor het milieu? De uitleg is dan: &#8220;Jaarlijks komt meer dan 8 miljoen ton plastic in de oceaan terecht. Onze organisatie zet zich in voor een betere wereld, dat begint bij onszelf&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>3. Illustrate: <\/strong>Ten slotte wil je dit toelichten. Dat kan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.debatrix.com\/nl\/2008\/09\/maak-je-argumenten-tastbaarder-en-concreter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">met een voorbeeld<\/a>, maar ook met feiten, statistieken, redeneringen, analogie\u00ebn of theorie\u00ebn. Als je alle drie deze onderdelen hebt dan is je argument af.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Voorbeeld: &#8220;Door minder plastic te gebruiken in het bedrijf besparen we jaarlijks meer dan een ton plastic. Dat is dan 1000 kilo die ni\u00e9t in de natuur terecht kan komen&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Heb je alle drie de onderdelen? Dan is je argument af. Tijd om het in de praktijk te brengen.
