Aanwezig op het symposium waren onder meer CEO’s Josef Ackermann (Deutsche Bank), Dominic Barton (McKinsey & Company), Paul Bulcke (Nestl\u00e9), J\u00fcrgen Hambrecht (BASF), Peter Voser (Shell) en Lord Griffiths of Fforestfach, vice-president van Goldman Sachs International. Andere opvallende sprekers waren Prof. Niall Ferguson (Harvard, Cambridge), Prof. Lord Anthony Giddens (grondlegger van Tony Blair’s “Third Way”), Morten Lundt (o.a. Skype-investeerder maar nu failliet), Prof. Kishore Mahbubani en Mark C. Medish (buitenlandadviseur Bill & Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama).<\/p>\n

\"\"Lars Duursma gaf dinsdag een speech over ondernemerschap, de rol van de overheid en wat wij kunnen leren van chimpansees. Die maakte zo’n indruk op de aanwezige journalisten, dat BBC-verslaggever Peter Day hem tijdens het symposium interviewde voor zijn wekelijkse radioprogramma. Het interview wordt op 15 en 16 mei uitgezonden.<\/p>\n

Eerder werd Lars door het Amerikaanse tijdschrift Business Week geplaatst bij de drie meest veelbelovende jonge ondernemers van Europa. In 2009 verkoos tijdschrift Elsevier hem bij de 50 grootste talenten van Nederland.<\/p>\n

En nu naar China…<\/h3>\n

Woensdag vertrekt Lars voor tien dagen als vrijwilliger naar Beijing. Daar zal hij ruim tweehonderd Chinese studenten intensief laten debatteren, om hen zo in staat te stellen het debat te verspreiden in China.<\/p>\n

Zondag 23 mei is hij weer terug in Nederland, net op tijd voor het premierdebat van RTL4.<\/p>\n
