We weten dat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.debatrix.com\/nl\/2014\/08\/help-je-geheugen-gebruik-gebaren\/\">de juiste gebaren jouw verhaal ondersteunen<\/a> of zelfs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.debatrix.com\/nl\/2013\/10\/tip-over-handgebaren-een-stijgende-lijn-doe-je-met-rechts\/\">tegenwerken<\/a>. Maar dat men dingen kan horen die helemaal niet gezegd zijn, is voor veel mensen nieuw.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Toch is er al zeker 16 jaar geleden interessant onderzoek gepubliceerd waarin bleek dat luisteraars bepaalde informatie dachten te hebben gehoord, terwijl ze die in werkelijkheid alleen in gebaar hadden gezien. Als iemand bijvoorbeeld \u2018Hij komt van onder uit de leidingbuis\u2019 hoorde zeggen, terwijl de spreker tegelijkertijd een vuist balde en die op en neer bewoog, dacht de luisteraar achteraf ook \u2018en gaat de trap af\u2019 gehoord te hebben.<a href=\"#_edn1\" name=\"_ednref1\">[i]<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hoe werkt het?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Het is onmogelijk om g\u00e9\u00e9n betekenis te geven aan iets wat iemand zegt. Om deze betekenis te bouwen wordt alle beschikbare informatie gebruikt. Niet alleen woorden, maar ook gebaren komen ons brein binnen en krijgen vrijwel direct op een onbewust niveau betekenis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hoe te gebruiken?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Het is daarom belangrijk om je te beseffen dat men ook dingen hoort die niet gezegd zijn. Zo kan je bijvoorbeeld bewust bij die lange vergadering zeggen \u201cHet is tijd voor rondvraag.\u201d, terwijl je ondertussen subtiel een \u2018afkapgebaar&#8217; maakt.
