en van Knippenberg deden een experiment waarbij serveersters de klanten in het restaurant imiteerden.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/abs\/pii\/S0022103103000143?via%3Dihub\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[1]<\/a> Serveersters die de woorden van de klanten letterlijk herhaalden, kregen 70% meer fooi dan serveersters die de bestelling van de klanten in hun eigen woorden samenvatten. De effecten worden veroorzaakt door een gevoel van overeenstemming met de ander. We vinden een ander leuker en overtuigender wanneer we het gevoel hebben dat diegene op ons lijkt \u2013 en door imitatie wek je bij je gesprekspartner het gevoel op dat je op hem of haar lijkt. Wel is het van belang om deze techniek n\u00ed\u00e9t te gebruiken bij een hevige discussie waarin de gemoederen hoog op lopen zoals dat wel eens gebeurd <a href=\"https:\/\/www.debatrix.com\/nl\/2018\/02\/metacommunicatie-de-favoriete-debattechniek-van-veel-politici\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">onder politici tijdens verkiezingsdebatten<\/a>. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p><strong>Een laatste tip voor bij het imiteren: zorg wel dat het natuurlijk (en onopgemerkt) blijft, want anders kan het wel eens tegenovergesteld werken!
